The Deep-Breath Workshop 2025, a premier initiative led by ODELIA partner Radboudumc, has officially concluded at MICCAI in Daejeon, South Korea. This year’s event marked a historic milestone, bringing together a vibrant community of over 300 participants from 34 countries to advance the frontiers of AI-driven breast imaging.
Leadership & Visionary Keynotes: The workshop opened with an inspiring address by Dr.Tianyu Zhang, who set the stage by highlighting the mission to bridge the gap between AI innovation and clinical reality. This was followed by a series of masterclasses from four world-renowned experts: Dr. Ritse Mann,Dr. Shandong Wu, Dr. Jakob Nikolas Kather,andDr. Tao Tan. Their insights into the future of diagnostic and treatment workflows sparked deep engagement and set a high standard for scientific exchange throughout the day.
Scientific Excellence & Publications: The academic rigor of Deep-Breath 2025 was reflected in the numbers: out of 62 competitive submissions, only 35 papers were selected for presentation. We are pleased to announce that the official workshop proceedings are now available:

Looking Ahead: Deep-Breath 2026 in Abu Dhabi
We are thrilled to officially announce the third edition: Deep-Breath 2026. Taking place on 8th October 2026 at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, this workshop will dive even deeper into the synergy between Artificial Intelligence and Clinical Breast Care. As breast imaging moves toward a more personalized and predictive era, our mission in Abu Dhabi is to tackle the next generation of diagnostic and treatment challenges. The event will be led by General Chair Tianyu Zhang (Radboudumc, the Netherlands), who will open the workshop with an introduction to the 2026 vision.
